Skip Hire and Waste Management in Bury

At ISM Waste & Recycling, we take recycling seriously, recycling over 90% of the waste that we collect from our customers. By recycling, only a small amount of waste is subject to landfill tax which means we keep our skip hire prices low for you, the customer. Skip permits are only required when your skip is on a public highway. Skip permits are an additional cost when hiring a skip, so if possible, it's best if we can place your skip on private land or an unadopted road.

But if you do need a permit, don't worry, we'll organise the permit for you.

Skip hire duration can be flexible, especially if it's kept on private property. You will usually be able to keep your skip for 14 days; however, you can discuss the length of hire when you're booking a skip.

If you require a permit on a skip, for example, if it's placed on a public highway, you will only be able to keep the skip till the permit expires. Permits duration varies depending on your local authority, typically permits last for one week up to 4 weeks.

It's completely fine to put any general waste and recyclables in your skip, but what isn't allowed is hazardous waste.

Hazardous and prohibited waste includes batteries, asbestos*, medical waste, electrical appliances, fridges, freezers, gas bottles, paint, tyres* and toxic materials. If you have any non-compliant waste types, don't worry; we can help with that too.

Simply give us a quick call on 01706 823001 to let us know you have finished filling your skip. A driver will then come to collect the skip the next day. The skip is delivered to our waste transfer station, which we will then process for recycling.

When booking your skip with us, you'll select a date and time that works around your needs.

Deliveries can be arranged for as early as the very next day, and in some cases, we can deliver skips to you on the same day if you book before 9am. The same goes for when you want a skip collecting, just call up, and we'll arrange to collect your skip the very next day.

For health and safety reasons, you can only fill a skip to the height of the sides of the skip. Anything above a level load can make the skip too heavy for the truck to pick up.
